University Grants Commission (UGC) has called on private universities to update the syllabus of their ongoing academic programmes.

UGC made the call today in an instruction sent to the vice-chancellors and registrars of private universities across the country, reports UNB.

In 2019, private universities had been asked to update their approved syllabuses every four years from the date of approval of each programme following the guideline of the commission.

Ensuring a modern and up-to-date curriculum, variation, and breaking new grounds in science and technology are essential for achieving the desired quality of higher education, said a press release of UGC.

So, UGC has asked the private universities to update their approved, ongoing programmes, it added.
