The district and upazila administrations stand beside the family of Md Sohag Mia. They searched for Sohag’s family members and provided financial assistance on Sunday noon.
Sohag Mia (30) was a garment worker, who died in a road accident at Nakla in Sherpur on Saturday 8:15 am.
Sohag Mia, son of Atash Ali, village of Mozarkanda, under the Baneshwardi union of the Nakla upazila.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Zahidur Rahman, on behalf of the district and upazila administration, visited the house of Sohag’s father Atash Ali, Mozarkanda village in Baneshwardi union of the upazila.
Moreover, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mominur Rashid spoke on his mobile phone and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Zahidur Rahman spoke directly to Sohag’s family members and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.
UNO Zahidur Rahman handed over financial assistance of Tk 20,000 in cash on behalf of DC Mominur Rashid. At that time, the parents of the deceased Sohag became emotional.
Upazila Awami League Science and Technology Secretary and Chairman of Baneshwardi Union Parishad Mazharul Anwar Mahabbat, UP members Mofakhkharul Islam and Shahjahan Mia, President of Nakla Press Club Md Musharaf Hossain, Joint Secretary Delwar Hossain, Organizational Secretary Fazle Rabbi Rajon and member Raisul Islam Rifat, locals Sirajul Islam, former BRAC officer Nazrul Islam and many others of the area were present at a safe social distance.
Mazharul Anwar Mohabbat, chairman of Baneshwardi Union Parishad, said garment worker Sohag Mia only earned for the family. The family was left helpless again as he died in a road accident. He assured me that he will always keep an eye on this family. He also said that he would take necessary steps for the treatment of Sohag’s injured wife and children.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Zahidur Rahman said Sohag died and injured his wife and a child in the road accident. The child was injured in the hand and neck and the wife was injured in the waist and chest. So UNO Zahidur Rahman was advised to be admitted to Sherpur District Sadar Hospital and Nakla Upazila Hospital for treatment. He will talk to the doctor for this, UNO added.
