Covid-19 vaccine program has been inaugurated in Chitalmari upazila in Bagerhat on Sunday as elsewhere in the country amid much enthusiasm.
Upazila Parishad Chairman Ashok Kumar Baral inaugurated the vaccination program at Chitalmari Upazila Health Complex at 10 am.
After the inauguration, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Maruful Alam took the first vaccine and then Upazila Parishad Chairman Ashok Kumar, Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mir Shariful Haque and Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Mohammad Mamun Hasan took the vaccine.
Then, one by one, representatives of different professionals, political leaders and different classes of people took vaccines. A total of 105 people took the vaccine on the opening day.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Mohammad Mamun Hasan said all those who have been vaccinated are still healthy and well. He added that the vaccination activities will continue every day.
