Awareness training on prevention of child marriage and dowry was held on Sunday at Chitalmari Upazila in Bagerhat.
The Upazila Social Services Department arranged the awareness training in the Upazila Auditorium.
Upazila Parishad Chairman Ashok Kumar Baral was present as the chief guest in the training program which was presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Maruful Alam.
Special guests were Sabera Begum Swapna, Women Vice Chairman of Upazila Parishad, Ziaur Rahman, Upazila JICA Coordinator and Md. Abu Musa, Upazila Social Welfare Officer.
In the light of Child Marriage and Dowry Prevention, Child Marriage Act (2018) Amended Dowry Prohibition Act, the two-day training program was organized to create awareness among journalists, imams, teachers, priests, women leaders and other professionals.
