A son with his father died after being electrocuted while trying to connect an irrigation pump yesterday in Sarishabari upazila of Jamalpur.
The incident took place at noon on Friday at Gobindnagar village in Pogaldigha union of the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Intaz Ali, 50, son of late Hatem Ali of Gobindnagar village of the upazila and his younger son Firoz Mia, 21.
Family number said Feroze went to connect an irrigation pump that is next to his house. At that time he got electrocuted by getting involved with the wire. Hearing the boy’s screams, father Intaz Ali went to save him and he also got electrocuted. Both died on the spot.
Ashraful Alam Manik, newly elected chairman of Pogaldigha Union, said that I heard the news, both of them died tragically.
