Mostafizur Rahman, Sarishabari, Jamalpur:
A motorbike rider and his passenger were killed when their bike was hit by a passenger bus on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Saidur Islam, 20, son of Mozzamel Islam of Barbaria village in Kamrabad union of the upazila and Akash Mia, 14, son of Khokon Mia of the same village. Both of them are the students of Sarishabari Ranidin Moni Pilot High School said Abu Mohammad Fazlul Karim, OC of Sarishabari.
The accident took place at around 8:30am at Baushi Bridge on the Sarishabari-Digpait road in Sarishabari upazila.
According to police and witnesses, the deceased Saidur Islam and Akash Mia were on their way to the local Baushi Bazar on a motorcycle from their house. Unfortunately they were killed on the spot when a Dhaka-bound Bhai Bhai Enterprise bus hit the motorcycle from behind.
On receiving the news, the police and fire service recovered the body and took it to the police station, OC added.
The body was sent to the district morgue for autopsy on Wednesday afternoon. A case is being prepared with the police station while the news is being filed.
