Meeting on SRHR held in Rangamati

A meeting on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) was held to address restrictive social norms you young women and girls at Bangalhalia High School in Rajasthali upazila of Rangamati district. 

Hill Flower arranged the meeting on Tuesday (December 22, 2020) which was attended by 25 participants—19 males and six females, most of them are the community, traditional and religious leaders.

No-3 Bangalhalia Union Parishad Chairman Cromong Marma was present as the chief guest at the event while Mongching Chowdhury, Akhya Mong Chowdhury, Bangalhalia High School Head Master among others were present.

Besides, Headman, Karbary, UP members, village leaders, teachers and local leaders also attended the training program.

Appreciating the SRHR activities in the region by Hill Flower, the participants at the meeting, pledged that they will also promote the issue in their respective working arena. 

They discussed the objectives of ‘Our Life, Our Health Our Future (OLHF) Project’ and update of project activities as well as the activities of girls club were also subjects of the discussion.

The speakers also discussed about gender role in local context, restrictive social norms to young women and girls SRHR and safety.

They also discussed eliminating violence against women and the responsibilities of social leaders.
