Sheikh Hasina is always by all journalists: Dr Murad Hasan

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is always beside all journalists and thinks of them, said the State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Md Murad Hasan MP.

The state minister made this remark while speaking as the chief guest at a distribution of incentive checks among journalists organized by the Sherpur District Administration and Sherpur Press Club at the District Shilpakala Academy on Friday (August 20) afternoon.

State Minister said that journalists are working as frontrunners in the situation of coronavirus (Covid-19) risking their lives and making a special contribution like many others in dealing with the Corona situation.

That is why Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the worthy daughter of Bangabandhu has concern for all journalists across the country.

Reminding the brutal killing of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, State Minister said “Ziaur Rahman was the mastermind of the murder of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and his family members.”

“In order to save the killers after this heinous murder, the then government enacted a black law called the Indemnity Ordinance. After 21 long years of passing this law, Sheikh Hasina’s government repealed that black law and paved the way for the trial of Bangabandhu’s killers, Dr Murad Hasan added.

He went on to say, although those directly involved, in the murder of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family, was hanged, the mask of the protagonist Ziaur Rahman has not been unveiled even today.

However, it was time to unmask the Ziaur Rahman in the interest of knowing the true history of future generations.

In his speech, Dr Md Murad Hasan MP demanded the posthumous trial of mastermind Ziaur Rahman who secretly planned to eliminate Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family.

Deputy Commissioner Md Mominur Rashid presided and Meraj Uddin GS of Sherpur Press Club administered the program. Superintendent of Police Hasan Nahid Chowdhury and Mayor of Sherpur Municipality Golam Mohammad Kibria Liton spoke as special guests. Sherpur Press Club President Md. Sharifur Rahman welcomed the gathering.

Later, checks worth Tk 10,000 each were handed over to 46 journalists of the district. Sherpur district Awami League, district administration officials, members of the police department, representatives of business organizations, Chhatra League journalists of different media were present in the program.

In response to a question at the Sherpur Circuit House before the check distribution ceremony Murad Hasan MP told reporters that no IP TV is currently allowed in the country. The government will soon take action against unauthorized and illegal IP TVs. In particular, action will be taken against those who are accused of various irregularities including extortion. He added that so far 700 IP TV applications have been submitted to the Information Ministry. Approval process will be started after verification and selection of the submitted applications. In addition, the approval process of the online news portal is underway. In the meantime, registration of several portals has been given, the rest will be given in phases, State Minister added.
