Finally, the Upazila Administration has taken initiative to remove the water blockage of the central Shaheed Minar in Chitalmari. The work was started by digging the soil of the drain on Tuesday, July 27. The conscious community of the area has applauded the Upazila Administration for taking such an initiative even though it was too late.
The central Shaheed Minar at Chitalmari in the heart of the upazila has been flooded for a long time. Due to this problem, it was not possible to conduct any cultural or other activities in the premises of Shaheed Minar. Despite such a stalemate for a long time, no effective steps have been taken so far.
In order to remove the water blockage of Shaheed Minar, the upazila administration has taken initiative to remove the water by constructing a drain. Besides, measures have been taken to clean up the garbage.
Chitalmari Upazila Nirbahi Officer(UNO) Liton Ali said he had noticed the waterlogging of the Shaheed Minar after he joined here and was actively considering resolving the issue. He is happy to finally take steps to solve the problem.
