Journalist leader MA Quddus dies

Journalist leader and eminent cartoonist MA Quddus died of cardiac arrest this morning at his city’s Shahibag residence. He was 50.

Quddus, senior vice president of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ), is a famous cartoonist of the country who worked for Daily Sangbad, Daily Ittefaq and other media houses.

Hailing from Rajbari district, popularly known as cartoonist Quddus, took his Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) degree from the University of Dhaka.

Kuddus won the National Arts Prize in 1988 of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

He also won the international Cartoon artiste award in 1998.

More than 6500 cartoons of Kuddus were printed on the first page of newspapers he worked.

Kuddus worked at Dainik Sangbad, Ajker Potrika, Doinik Ittefaq.
