UP Chairman’s wife protest against rumor about her husband in Gopalganj

Shefali Roy, wife of Jalirpar Union Parishad Chairman Mihir Kanti Roy, at press conference on Friday, protested against rumor and misinformation spread in social media and newspapers about her husband in Muksudpur Upazila in Gopalganj.

Mihir Kanti Roy recently breathed his last from cardiac arrest on June 4.

Mihir Kanti’s wife Shefaly Roy raised her voice against rumors and misinformation at the press conference her home in Jalirpar village at 11 am.

She said that a group of miscreants have been spreading rumors about her husband that that her husband to serve their own interests.

The miscreants have been showing a document with her husband’s name in place of Johra Alam Banshbaria in a pad of Gopalganj District BNP dated 21st August 2019.

Shefaly Roy also clarified that the information over the declaration of her name as a Chairman Candidate. “This information is fully false and baseless information,” she confirmed.

“My husband was fully involved with the politics of Awami League when he was in America and soon after returning home, my husband participated in Union Parishad Election as an independent candidate” she said.

“The miscreants are spreading missinformation,” she said and urged Prime Minister and the administration to take action against the miscreants.

Muksudpur Upazila Parishad Chairman Md. Kabir Mia, Nanikshir Union’s Former Chairman Sheikh Md. Mujibur Rahman, Jalirpar Union Panel Chairman Bikas Bakchi, Ward No. 9,8,9 reserved female member Hena Rani Bala, Ward No.1,2,3 reserved Female Member Swapna Bairagi, Ward No. 9 Member Bidhan Sarkar among others were present at the press conference.
