Mild to moderate heat wave may continue in parts of country

The ongoing mild to moderate heat wave is likely to continue in different parts of the country, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin valid for 24 hours commencing 9am today.

“A mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions and the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Rangamati, Cumilla, Chandpur, Feni and Chuadanga and it may continue,” said the bulletin.

Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over the country.

The places are Chattogram, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal and Sylhet divisions, light rain may fall at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country’s maximum temperature on Tuesday day was recorded by 39 degree Celsius at Rajshahi and minimum temperature today was recorded by 24.6 degree Celsius at Badalgachhi.

The sun sets at 6.49 pm today and rises at 5.20 am tomorrow in the capital.
