Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at many places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said a Met Office release on Thursday.

The well-marked low over southwestern part of Bangladesh and adjoining area now lies over western part of Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal. It is likely to move Northwestwards. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, the centre of the well-marked low to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay.

Country’s maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded by 36.9 degree Celsius at Sayedpur and minimum temperature today was recorded by 24.5 degree Celsius jointly at Sitakunda, Kutubdia, and Teknaf.

Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00am was recorded by 245 millimeters (mm) at Mongla.
