Covid-19: Bangladesh records highest deaths of 143 deaths in 24 hours

Bangladesh has recorded the highest number of deaths of 143 people in the span of only 24 hours (till 8am Thursday), according to a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

This is by far the highest number of deaths from Covid-19 in a single day in the country since the pandemic began last year.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country has reached 14,646.

At least, 8,301 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 921,559, added the release.
