Sample crops harvest, Farmers Field Day held in Sherpur

Sample crops harvest Boro paddy (Tejgold variety) and Farmers’ ‘Field Day’ was held at Biharirpar village under Ganapaddi union in Nakla upazila of Sherpur district on Wednesday noon.

The Sample Crops cut and Field Day was organized by Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) of Nakla. The sample crops harvested program was held at Md. Abdul Barek’s Boro yield in Biharipar area of the upazila.

Upazila Agriculture Officer (UAO) agriculturist Paresh Chandra Das was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Among others, Additional Agriculture Officer (AAO) agriculturist Rukshana Nasrin, Ganapaddi UP Chairman Shamsur Rahman Abul, Upazila Statistics Officer Jahangir Alam, Sub Assistant Agriculture Officer (SAAO) Jahangir Alam Jahan and Faruk Hossain, local farmers and journalist of different media were present.

According to the Upazila Agriculture Office, 9.90 metric tons per hectare of paddy was produced as 27.8% moisture (Raw condition), 8.30 metric tons per hectare of paddy was produced as 14% moisture (Dry condition). According to this calculation, 5.50 metric tons of rice will be produced per hectare in this year, UAO agriculturist Paresh Chandra Das added.
