Quader admitted to BSMMU with minor sickness

Awami League general secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has been admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) this morning with minor sickness.

“Obaidul Quader has been advised to take treatment staying admitted to BSMMU. A 10-member medical board has checked his condition and advised him to take treatment at BSMMU,” Vice-Chancellor of BSMMU Professor Dr Md Sharfuddin Ahmed told journalists.

He said Obaidul Quader has been suffering from asthma along with previous health complications. The medical board will conduct a checkup again at 10am tomorrow and the media will be briefed about the latest update of his health condition, BSMMU VC added.

Earlier, AL office secretary Barrister Biplob Barua told media that Obaidul Quader got admitted into BSMMU this morning after he felt sick.

The party has requested the countrymen to pray for the quick recovery of Obaidul Quader, he said urging the party leaders-workers not to gather round at the hospital.

“The BSMMU authorities have also requested all not to gather at the hospital to visit Obaidul Quader,” Biplob Barua told media.
