Country will reach its goal with communal harmony: Hasan

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said the country has been created in exchange of blood of all people and the nation will reach its desired goal with the pledge of communal harmony.

“The country once was created in exchange of sacrifice of blood of all people …similarly the communal harmony of people from all communities would help the country to reach its looked-for goal,” he said.

The minister made these remarks while addressing the inaugural function of Suvo Mahalaya at Banani puja mandap here this morning.

Dr Hasan said: “I hope that the pleasure of the festival will strengthen our ties of communal harmony… it is my prayers and wishes.”

The essence of all religions whatever the Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam and Christian is the welfare of all people, he said, adding that “The world will be more peaceful if we believe the essence of the religion and practice it.”

But the minster regretted that in most of the time, people are diverted into wrong way due to misinterpretation of the religion, saying that and that’s why various types of violence take place in different parts of the world, but none of the religion supports the violence.

Gulshan-Banani Sarvajanin Puja Foundation Dilip Das Gupta, General Secretary Alok Saha and Coordinator Santosh Sharma spoke on the occasion, among others.
