Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) will arrange a boat race in river Buriganga at 4pm on September 28 marking the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina .
State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Zahid Ahsan Russel will inaugurate the race at Barishur lunch ghat.
State Minister for Seeping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Md Atiqul Islam, lawmakers Advocate Md Qamrul Islam and Haji Md Selim will join the inaugural ceremony as guests of honor.
Besides, a discussion and prize distribution ceremony will be held at Sheikh Jamal Government Secondary School at Kamrangirchar.
Shipping Secretary Md Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury will preside over the function while BIWTA Chairman Commodore Golam Sadeq will deliver the welcome address.
