Admission, tuition, registration fees including money for form fill up to SSC examination were distributed among 30 poor, helpless but meritorious students of class IX to SSC examinees at Ghatail Upazila Parishad premises in Tangail district on Thursday.
Students were selected from six schools from Jamuria and Dighalkandi Unions under Ghatail upazila of Tangail district. Appropriate health guidelines were maintained during the distribution ceremony.
Ghatail Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mr. Anjan Kumar Sarkar handed over cash money to the selected students at Ghatail Upazila Parishad Office at around 11am.
The monetary assistance was distributed by World Concern Bangladesh under its Family Development for Children with Scholarship (FDCS) Project at Ghatail Branch.
Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer Mahmuda Khatun, Ghatail Sadar Union Chairman, Upazila Youth Development Officer Imran Hossain, Jamuria Union Parishad Member Mst Minara Begum and BBC Program Officer James Sunny Bairagi were present on the occasion.
The guests thanked the World Concern Bangladesh authorities for their financial support in the field of children’s education and advised them to continue such activities.
