15 volunteers awarded by DYDF, ActionAid

As a part of efforts to promote youth volunteerism, ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB) and Dhrubotara Youth Development Foundation (DYDF) on Thursday have awarded fifteen volunteers in recognition to their work for youths as well as response during Covid19 crisis.

Of the rewarded volunteers, ten are organisations and five are individuals, said a press release.

In honor of International Volunteer’s Day 2020, the two organisations joint hand to recognize the volunteers with the AAB-DYDF Youth Volunteerism Award 2020.

The name of the awardees — Durbar Foundation, Evolution 360, OnuProyash Foundation, BloodMan, 64D Initiatives, Alokito Shishu Trust, Athena Limited, Wheel Chair Cricket Welfare Association Bangladesh, SwapnaProyash, Samanway Bangladesh, Jesmin Arif Jui, Palsh Kumar Das, Manisha Meem Nipun, Rafat Jahan Moumita, and Prosenjit Kumar Saha — announce through a virtual event on Thursday evening.

All of the awardees thanked DYDF and AAB for recognizing their work and shining a spotlight on their cause. They said, “We don’t do what we do for recognition or praise however through award ceremonies like this, our work gets highlighted and we believe this ceremony today will inspire and encourage other youth to join the cause and work for the betterment of our community and country.”

Planning Minister M. A. Mannan was present as the Chief Guest at the virtual award giving ceremony. DYDF Chief Coordinator Kazi Salman moderated the event, while Action Aid Bangladesh Manager Nazmul Ahsan, Executive Director of DYDF Amiya Prapan Chakraborty Arka, were presented among others.
