SALT Project Inception meeting held in Pabna


The Project Inception Meeting for the Community Empowerment approach using SALT project was held on Thursday (23 May 2024) in Bera Upazila meeting room in Pabna District.

The meeting was organized by Bangladesh Rural Economic Development (BRED) and funded by the Global Fund for Children (GFC).

Md. Monirul Islam, the project coordinator of BRED, presented the project brief and presided over the meeting, while Bera Upazila Nirbahi Officee (UNO) Md. Morshedul Islam was present as the chief guest.

Various stakeholders from the Upazila attended the meeting, including Dr. Fatema-Tuz-Jannat, HNFPO of Bera Upazila Health Complex; Md. Mottalib Sarkar, Upazila Social Service Officer; and Md. Abdul Qaddus, Upazila Youth Development Officer. Also in attendance were Dr. Abdul Hannan, President of the Bara Press Club; Mr. Abdul Hamid, Chairman of Haturia-Nakalia Union Parishad; along with officials from various government agencies and NGOs.

The participants appreciated the SALT approach and the community-led initiative, committing to continue their support where required. The UNO advised the Union Chairman to cooperate with BRED to ensure the success of the project interventions.
