Police arrested a madrasa teacher on charge of attempting to rape a 14-year-old student in Sharishabari upazila of Jamalpur last night (July 18, 2022).
The accused is Joynal Abedin, hailing from Charshi Khalifapara village of Sadar upazila, was a teacher at Babu Mollah Hajibari Nurani and Hafezia Madrasa, said Abdul Majid, inspector (investigation) of Sharishabari Police Station.
The incident occurred at the madrasa last night.
Inspector Abdul Majid said the accused teacher tried to rape the class 3 student last night at the madrasa.
As the news came to light, locals apprehended the teacher and later handed him over to police, the police officer said.
The victim’s grandfather filed a case today and the accused teacher was shown arrested in the case, he said, adding the accused was sent to jail through a court today
