Mysterious fire at Sarishabari UNO’s office in Jamalpur

A mysterious fire broke out at Sarishabari UNO’s office, burning all the important documents of the office on Sunday’s morning.
The fire broke out in the Upazila Nirbahi Officer’s room on the third floor of the new building of Sarishabari Upazila Parishad at 7 am on Sunday.
Deputy Commissioner Mursheda Zaman and Assistant Director of Fire Service, Moniruzzaman visited the spot.
According to local and fire service sources, a fire broke out in the UNO’s office room located on the third floor of the four-storey building of Sarishabari Upazila Parishad.

Mizanur Rahman, Senior Station Officer (Acting) of Sarishabari Fire Service, said, “We rushed to the spot after receiving the news and doused the fire within two hours.”

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Upoma Farisa said, “I got the news of the fire from Ansar in the morning. After a while, the fire service people came and brought the fire under control. All the important documents and belongings of the office were burnt in this incident. It could not be said what caused the fire.”
Deputy Commissioner Mursheda Zaman said, “I have visited the spot after receiving the news. A three-member inquiry committee has been formed to find out the cause of the fire. I have instructed to complete the investigation by April 21. The next step will be taken after receiving the investigation report.”
The members of the investigation committee are Dilruba Ahmed, deputy director of Jamalpur local government department, Sayeduzzaman Sadeq, executive engineer of local government engineering department (LGED) and Md. Moniruzzaman.
