Centenary celebration of Dhaka University Alumni Association (DUAA) will be held on March 12 at the central playground marking the centenary of the country’s oldest university.
A total of 9,337 alumni members and 11,326 people including their spouses have registered to participate in the celebration, DUAA president AK Azad told at a press conference here today at the central playground of the university.
Marking the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Golden Jubilee of country’s Independence and the hundred years of Dhaka University, the centenary reunion is being celebrated with elaborate programs including photo exhibition, discussion and cultural program, said AK Azad.
The alumni have been working to create a fund of Taka 100 crore for overall development of the university, said Azad, adding ” We have already collected a handsome amount of money and hope that the rest of the funds are expected to be collected in one or two years.”
Secretary General Ranjan Karmakar and alumni members of the university, among others, were present on the occasion.
