Fish farmers awarded in Sherpur

The National Fisheries Week-2021 (August 28 to September 3) has been inaugurated in Sherpur with the slogan “Let’s cultivate more fish, eliminate unemployment”.

Besides, certificates and prizes have been distributed among the top 5 fish farmers of the district as successful workers in fish production.

FF Atiur Rahman Atiq MP was officially inaugurated the National Fisheries Week-2021 as the chief guest through a virtual. The program was organized by the district administration and district fisheries department at the Rajnigandha as the district administration’s conference room.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Mominur Rashid handed over the certificates and awards among the best five fish farmers of the district.

Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary) of Local Government Department of Sherpur ATM Ziaul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC General) Muktadirul Ahmed and District Fisheries Officer Aminul Islam, officials of different levels of district administration and district-upazila fisheries office, local journalists of different media were present.

The top five fish farmers at the district level are Harunur Rashid of Sherpur Sadar Upazila, Mostafizur Rahman (Mostafiz) of Nakla Upazila, Manjurul Haque Masud of Nalitabari Upazila, Fariduzzaman of Shreebardi Upazila and Ashraf Ali of Jhenaigati Upazila.

Nakla’s Mostafizur Rahman (Mostafiz), best fish farmer award winner is the GS of Gauradhar Union JL and the President of Muktijoddha Command Sontan Council of Gauradhar Union Branch.

Mostafizur Rahman, son of heroic FF Matiur Rahman, village of Doritegori in Gauradhar Union of the upazila. He is a successful fish farmer, a political figure of the AL and an honest businessman. He wants to serve the people of Gauradhar Union from all walks of life with the aim of making it a modern and digital union free from various social crimes including corruption, drugs and early marriage.
