Grenade Attack Day was observed in Nakla upazila of Sherpur district on 21 August Saturday. In memory of the victims of the grenade attack on 21 August 2004, different programs have been implemented on the occasion of Grenade Attack Day. The programs were organized by the Upazila Awami League and Juba League.
National, Party and Black flags were hoisted in front of the temporary office of the Upazila Awami League on the day morning. Earlier, all those present wore black badges in memory of those killed in the August 21, 2004 grenade attack. Later, special prayers were offered for the souls of those killed in the grenade attack.
Upazila Awami League Senior Vice-president Ambia Khatun, General Secretary FF Shafiqul Islam Zinnah, Vice-president principal Abdul Khaleq, Joint Secretary and chairman of the Upazila Parishad Shah Md Burhan Uddin, Organizing Secretary and Member of District Council Chamiul Haque Mukta, Organizing Secretary and Chairman of Nakla UP Anisur Rahman Shuja, Office Secretary Khalilur Rahman, Publicity Secretary Abdur Rashid Sarkar, Convener of Upazila Juba League Rafiqul Islam Sohel, Joint Convener Rezaul Karim Ripon, Member Akram Hossain and others, Anjuman Ara Rumi a reserved female member of the district council, leaders of upazila, municipality, union and ward Awami League, Juba League and allied organizations and local journalists were present.
