Virtual preparatory meeting on Eid celebration held in Nakla

A preparatory meeting was held by virtual manner on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha in Nakal upazila of Sherpur district on Wednesday noon. The meeting was organized by the upazila administration.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Zahidur Rahman presided over the meeting, where upazila parishad chairman Shah Md Burhan Uddin was physically present as the chief guest.

General Secretary of Upazila Awami League FF Shafiqul Islam Zinnah, Vice Chairman of Upazila Parishad Mohammad Saroar Alam Talukder, Joint Secretary of Upazila AL and municipal mayor Hafizur Rahman Liton, Upazila Livestock Officer (ULO) Dr Md Abdul Ahad, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nakla police station Mushfiqur Rahman, Chairman of Chandrakona union parishad Saju Saeed Siddiqui and others were spoke on the virtual meeting.

Anisur Rahman Shuja chairman of Nakla UP and organizing secretary of Upazila AL, Khalilur Rahman, office secretary, Upazila Social Service Officer (USSO) Md Alamgir Hossain, Upazila Secondary Education Officer (USEO) Mohammad Abdur Rashid, Upazila Agriculture Officer (UAO) agriculturist Abdul Wadud, Upazila Women Affairs Officer (UWAO) Rumana Yeasmin, Assistant Information Officer (Acting Information Officer) Saymon Shahnaz, Nakla Press Club president Md Musharaf Hossain, finance secretary Abdullah Al Amin, executive member Raisul Islam Rifat, Manager of Nakla Branch of Sonali Bank and Krishi Bank, Heads of different departments of the upazila, Leaders of Upazila Awami League at different levels, Chairmen of different union parishads, Representatives and local journalists of different media were took part in the meeting.

FF Shafiqul Islam Zinnah GS of upazila AL was special request to the law enforcement agencies and the police department to keep a close watch on any banned organization or any organization in order to create any kind of sabotage or chaos ahead of Eid.

Upazila Parishad Chairman Shah Md Burhan Uddin said that although the government has relaxed the strict ban for 8 days in view of Eid-ul-Azha, a number of general restrictions remain in force; He urged everyone to abide by them properly. He also said the people of Nakla are very peaceful. However, there may be some dishonest people in the upazila, so he thinks that special attention should be paid so that no one can create any kind of chaos.

UNO Zahidur Rahman said Corona Virus (Covid-19) was discussed in detail about the online animal market so that the conscious people can buy and sell the sacrificial animal online without going to the cattle market. Necessary assistance is being provided by the Upazila administration and the Upazila livestock department for buying and selling animals online. He said that there is no alternative to wearing a mask as per the government guidelines and keeping physical distance as per the instructions of the government to be safe in Corona.

Even if shops, shopping malls and markets are open for 8 days on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Azha, if there are more than 4-5 shoppers in a shop, no one is wearing a mask and no physical distance is maintained, action should be taken against the shop owner, shopping malls and market owner.

He directed the mayors of the municipality and the chairmen of all unions of the upazila to play an important role in creating awareness among the locals about holding a meeting to discuss Eid-ul-Azha sacrificial animal’s waste removal and security measures. He thinks that political leaders and civilians can also play an important role in the matter.
