Seeds and fertilizers distributed in Sherpur

Paddy seeds and chemical fertilizers have been distributed free of cost among 1,350 small and marginal farmers in Nakla upazila of Sherpur district under the agricultural incentive program to increase the production of transplanted aman paddy in Kharif-2 season of 2021-22 financial year.

On this occasion, a distribution program was organized at the Upazila Parishad premises on Sunday afternoon under the management of Nakla Upazila Agriculture Office of the Department of Agricultural Extension and under the supervision of Upazila Agriculture Officer (UAO) agriculturist Abdul Wadud.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Zahidur Rahman presided over the distribution program, where Upazila Parishad Chairman Shah Md Burhan Uddin was present as the chief guest.

Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Mohammad Saroar Alam Talukder, Upazila Awami League office secretary Khalilur Rahman and Upazila Krishka League convener Alamgir Azad were present as special guests.

Meanwhile, Joint Convener of Upazila Krishka League Abdul Mannaf Khan, Agriculture Extension Officer agriculturist Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni and agriculturist Mahmudul Hasan Musa, Sub Assistant Plant Protection Officer Fakir Mohammad Moazzem Hossain, officers of different departments of the upazila, Sub Assistant Agriculture Officers of different blocks, farmers of different area of upazila, leaders AL, JL, KL and others, joint secretary of Nakla Press Club Delwar Hossain Delu and local journalists were present.

Agriculturist Abdul Wadud said that in order to increase the production of transplanted aman paddy in the kharif-2 season of 2021-22 financial year, paddy seeds and chemical fertilizers were distributed free of cost among 1,350 small and marginal farmers under the agricultural incentive program. Of these, 216 farmers were given 5 kg of Ufsi 49 varieties of rice seeds, 10 kg of Di Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and Murate of Potash (MoP) fertilizers. 1,134 farmers were given 2 kg of hybrid varieties of rice seeds, 20 kg of Di Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and 10 kg Murate of Potash (MoP) fertilizers per farmer.

As a result, a total of 3,346 kg of paddy seeds and 38,340 kg of chemical fertilizers were distributed among 1,350 farmers in the upazila under the agricultural incentive program to increase the production of transplanted aman paddy in the kharif-2 season of 2021-22 financial years.
