A seminar on Food & Nutrition Security and Women Empowerment was held at the conference Hall of Bangladesh Institute of Research and Training on Applied Nutrition (BIRTAN) regional office Pirganj in Rangpur on Monday (14th June).
The seminar was held under the remarks, “Homestead Garden: A promising Approach for Food and Nutrition Security and Women Empowerment.”
Additional Director of Agriculture Extension Department, Rangpur Region, Rangpur Mr.Bidhu Bhushan Ray attended the function as chief guest. Dr. Al-Amin Hosen Talukdar, Principal scientific Officer, On-Farm Research Division, Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute was the special guest on the function.
Agriculturist Dr. Md. Sadequl Islam, Head and Senior Scientific Officer BIRTAN regional office Pirgang presided over the function. Senior Scientific On – Farm Division Of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute Rangpur presented the main articles before the attendants. Scientific officer, Mr.Marufur Rahman, BIRTAN regional office Pirgang conducted the function.
High officials of different offices of Pirgang upazila, teachers and others attended the function. Speakers of the function in their valuable speech gave emphasis on the significant role of women in respect of making a hunger free Bangladesh which the present government dreams of.
