Barabaria Union defeated Kalatala Union 3-1 in the final match of the three-day Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman National Gold Cup Football Tournament (Boys) U-17 at Chitalmari in Bagerhat.
Chitalmari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Liton Ali and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chitalmari Thana A.H.M. Kamruzzaman Khan handed over the trophy between the winning team and the runners-up team on Wednesday.
Among others, Chitalmari Upazila Awami League President Md. Babul Hossain Khan, Sher-e-Bangla Degree College Principal (Acting) Swapan Kumar Chowdhury, Upazila Youth Development Officer Md. Sohrab Hossain and Barbaria UP Chairman Sardar Masud were present at the occasion.
It is noted that under the initiative of the Upazila Administration and in collaboration with the Chitalmari Sports Association, the three-day-long game was attended by the players under the age of 17 from 7 unions of the upazila.
