Father of the Bengali Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman National Gold Cup Football Tournament (U-17) has been inaugurated in Nakla of Sherpur district on Friday afternoon.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Upazila Administration and the Upazila Sports Organization were jointly organized the tournament. The tournament was inaugurated at the Sheikh Russell Mini Stadium in Paiska area under Nakla Municipality of the upazila. The invited guests exchanged greetings with the players of both the teams and the tournament was officially inaugurated.
Baneshwardi Union Parishad and Chandrakona Union Parishad faced in the opening match. But as the game was undecided at the scheduled time, the game ended goalless. Later, as per the decision of the committee, Chandrakona Union Parishad won by 4-l goals in Trybreaker.
Later second match was held between Nakla Union Parishad and Talkie Union Parishad. In this, Talkie Union Parishad won by 1-0 goals and won the first round.
On this occasion, an inaugural program was organized by keeping physical distance and following health rules as per the instructions of the government.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Zahidur Rahman presided and Zilla parishad member Chamiul Haque Mukta organizing secretary of upazila AL was conducted over the inaugural program.
Nakla upazila parishad chairman and Joint GS of upazila AL Shah Md Burhan Uddin, GS of upazila AL FF Shafiqul Islam Zinnah, Joint secretary of upazila AL and mayor of the Nakla municipality Hafizur Rahman Liton and others were spoke on the program.
Assistant Commissioner (AC Land) and Executive Magistrate Kawsar Ahammad, Joint secretary of upazila AL and Nakla UP chairman Anisur Rahman Suja, organizing secretary and chairman of Urfa UP Rezaul Haque Hira, science-technology affairs secretary and Baneshwardi UP chairman Mazharul Anwar Mahabbat, office secretary Khalilur Rahman, Abdur Rashid Sarkar publicity secretary of upazila AL, upazila youth development officer Makbul Hossain, Rafiqul Islam and Humayun Kabir Barsha member of upazila JL, Sadekur Rahman GS of the upazila sports organization, Chandrakona UP chairman Saju Sayed Siddiqee, Talkie UP chairman Badiuzzaman Baddi, Nakla Press Club president Md Musharaf Hossain, joint-secretary Delwar Hossain and office secretary Selim Reza, Referee Mir Motaleb Hossain Shipon, Asaduzzaman, Al Mamun and Shah Mohiuddin Ahmed Lavlu, SL leader Sourav Shahriar and other leaders of the upazila sports organization, teachers and students of the participating educational institutions, local sporting spectators were present.
In order to complete the tournament smoothly, 7 sub-committees including match commissioner, players selector, age determination, field preparation, discipline and security, team formation at the upazila level and prize purchase sub-committee have been formed. The final match will be held at Sheikh Russell Mini Stadium in Paiska area under Nakla municipality of the upazila on 1st June 3:30 pm.
Moreover, the Sheikh Russell Mini Stadium of Nakla municipality has been decorated in different colors on the occasion of the game. Office rooms and players’ dressing rooms have been washed and the field and its surroundings have been cleaned.
