Md Musharaf Hossain, Sherpur:

The government of Bangladesh is bringing everything within the reach of people through digitalization. As part of this, the government has already begun to revolutionize land management of Nakla upazila of Sherpur district.

Under the guidance of the Ministry of Land and with the help of a2i, all activities are being digitized to facilitate harassment of land owners and land services.

Landowners can pay land rent (land development tax) from anywhere in the world in a digitalized manner. For this, software called Land Module Management System (LIMS) with 10 modules has been developed.

The modules under this software are: land registration management, land development tax management, land registration review management, land miss case management, budget management, rent certificate management and other services.

In the meantime, all the methods have been prepared. The rest of the land service activities will be covered in phases. These will work automatically as soon as the land development tax management system is introduced.

In order to pay land tax online, the land owner has to register in the application first. Once registered, the person will not need to re-register in the future. The letter mentions several rules including 3 important ways of registration. The ways are-

(1) Online Portal: www.land.gov.bd and www.ldtex.gov.bd; National Identity Card (NID), Mobile phone number and date of birth by entering;
(2) Call center No: 333 or 16122 and provide National Identity Card (NID) number, date of birth and land information.
(3) Through any union digital center using National Identity Card (NID).

The letter also said that if an unregistered person goes to the concerned union land office to pay rent, the land assistant officer of the union will first enter all his data. Besides, the Union Land Assistant Officer will enter the information of the holding owners on his own initiative. After the registration is completed, the sub assistant union land officers will enter other data online in the LD tax system at their union land office.

The citizens of the country will be able to pay all the land service fees including land registration management, land development tax management, land registration review management, land miss case management, budget management, rent certificate management system, mutation fee and ledger fee at home from now on.

Through this platform, citizens will be able to submit all fees online from home. The Ministry of Land is signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Land, payment gateway channel- NAGAD, UPAY, BIKASH and EKPAy mobile banking. Any fee for land service can be paid from the branches of these service centers.

Nakla assistant commissioner (Land) Kawsar Ahammad said that the digitization of land management across the country will be completed by June 30 this year. As a result, I don’t want to be a victim of harassment. Every citizen will be able to feel at ease while sitting at home doing all the land management work starting from paying his land development tax. This will be the biggest success of the government in the year of Mujib, he added. He also said to all, register the land in the right way, develop the land online at home or collect the receipt online by paying rent, update the correct information of owning your own land.
