A mobile court sent 4 gamblers to jail in Chitalmari on Monday afternoon. Each of the four gamblers has been jailed for 10 days in a mobile court at Chitalmari in Bagerhat.
Chitalmari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Md. Liton Ali passed the order at 3pm on Monday (May 24).
ASI of Barbaria Fari Police Station Mohammad Shamim Sardar said that on the basis of secret information, police arrested the gamblers from Daluaguni area of Chitalmari at around 1 pm. The gamblers known as Mohammad Forkan Ali Mir (50), Faruk Fakir (51) and Zahir Mir(36) and Sohail (38) were produced before Upazila Nirbahi Officer(UNO) and Executive Magistrate Md. Liton Ali who sentenced them 10 days prison each in the mobile court.
In this regard, Chitalmari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Md. Liton Ali said, each of the accused has been given 10 days jail under section 1867 (4) of the Bengal Publicly Gambling Act for the crime of gambling.
