Human chain demand withdrawal of false case against journo

Md Musharaf Hossain from Sherpur:

A human chain was formed demanding withdrawal of harassment cases and unconditional release of Daily Prothom Alo’s Senior Reporter Rozina Islam in Nakla upazila of Sherpur district on Thursday noon.

The human chain was organized in front of the Nakla police station of the district. An hour-long human chain program has been organized by the Nakla Press Club of Sherpur district.

Md Musharaf Hossain president of the Nakla Press Club of Sherpur district was presided over the human chain. Khandaker Jasim Uddin vice president of the Nakla Press Club was conduct over the program.

Mosharraf Hossain Sarkar Babu GS, Joint GS Delwar Hossain, Member Talat Mahmud president of the central committee of Kabi Sangha Bangladesh, Member Alhaj Mahbubur Rahman, Abdur Rafiq, Md Farukuzzaman and Mofazzal Hossain, Simanur Rahman Sukhon organizing secretary of Nakla Youth Reporters Club, Nasir Uddin GS of Nakla Nakla Adamya Medabi Sahayata Sanagstha, Mokib Hossain Mamun GS of Rakta Sainik Bangladesh Nakla unit, Asaduzzaman Sowrav president of Nakla Prabin and Protibondi Hitoyshi Sanagstha, Mokshedul Momin on behalf of BD Clean Nakla unit, Rezaul Hasan Safit president of Nakla Jobo shakti, Abdullah Al Amin vice-president of Sherpur district unit of Student Welfare Federation and others were spoke on the human chain program.

Speakers said some bureaucrats of the health ministry harassed Rozina Islam in a planned manner for her insightful reporting about the irregularities and corruption in the health sector. Condemning and protesting the incident, they also said Rozina Islam earned fame in the country and aboard for her investigative journalism.

The leaders of Nakla Press Club demanded immediate withdrawal of harassment cases and unconditional release of Rozina Islam and exemplary punishment of the bureaucrats involved in the harassment of Rozina Islam.

Nakla Press Club Organizing Secretary Fazle Rabbi Rajon and Md Nur Hossain, Office Secretary Selim Reza, Publicity Secretary Nahidul Islam Rejon, Executive Members Mosharraf Hossain Shyamal and Sujan Mia along with other members of Nakla Press Club, leaders and members of Nakla Youth Reporters Club, Nakla Adamya Medabi Sahayata Sanagstha, Nakla Prabin and Protibondi Hitoyshi Sanagstha, Blood Bank of Nakla, Rakta Sainik Bangladesh Nakla unit, BD Clean Nakla unit, Sherpur district unit of Student Welfare Federation and leaders of different social, cultural and progressive organizations in Nakla and many others were participated in the human chain.
