Deworming, vitamin premix distributed among cattle farmers in Sherpur

Sherpur Sadar Upazila Livestock Department and Veterinary Hospital distributed free deworming and vitamin premix among the cattle farmers under the modern technology of cow feeding project in Sherpur district on Wednesday noon.

The event was organized by Sherpur Sadar Upazila Livestock Department and Veterinary Hospital at Upazila Livestock Officer’s office maintaining physical distance as per government instructions.

Sherpur sadar Upazila Livestock Officer (ULO) Dr Palash Kanti Dutta presided over the distribution program, where District Livestock Officer (DLO) Dr Md Abdul Hai was present as the chief guest. Among others, the livestock extension officer Dr Farzana Mau, Sub assistant livestock officer working in the upazila livestock office and more than 25 trained cattle farmers from different areas of the upazila were present.

ULO Dr Palash Kanti Dutta said that, in order to improve the quality of life of the cattle farmers, regular counseling services are provided under the modern technology of cow feeding project including free deworming, vitamin premix and distribution of other necessary medicines.

Following this, free deworming and vitamin premix was distributed among 25 trained cattle farmers on the day. Under this project, providing training to the farmers, they are also provided various facilities including free livestock agrochemicals, various essential medicines including vitamin premix, cow feeding training manual and health card in modern technology.

DLO Dr Md Abdul Hai said, at least 50 farmers are selected from different areas of the upazila every year and given 3 days training in modern technology under the cow feeding project. Later, various facilities were provided to the trained farmers under the project. Cattle farmers are benefiting.

As a result, the number of cattle farms and the beneficiaries are increasing day by day, he added. He also said that free cattle deworming and vitamin premix has been distributed among the cattle farmers in the all (five) upazilas of Sherpur district, under the modern technology.
