Md Musharaf Hossain in Sherpur:
A total of 13,142 Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) card holders’ (destitute and poor people) of one municipality and 9 unions received cash money on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr in Nakla upazila of Sherpur district on Sunday.
The monetary aid was provided under Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) program to help them celebrate the forthcoming Eid-ul-Fitr smoothly.
Upazila administration has been distributing the cash money in cooperation with the local government bodies.
Upazila relief and rehabilitation office sources, the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief allocated TK 5,913,900 for a total of 13,142 VGF card holders in the upazila.
Upazila relief and rehabilitation officer Md Jahangir Hossain said that, of the card holders 3,081are in Nakla municipality; 1,350 are in Ganapaddi unin; 1,025 are in Nakla unin; 1,273 are in Urfa unin, 607 are in Gouradhar unin, 915 are in Baneswardi unin; 1,200 are in Pathakata unin, 966 are in Talki unin; 1,270 are in Charasthadhar unin; 1,455 are in Chandrakona unin of the upazila. He also said, each of the beneficiaries get cash Tk 450.
As part of this, a distribution program was organized on Sunday morning at Nakla Municipality ground under the chairmanship of Municipal Mayor Hafizur Rahman Liton. Meanwhile, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Zahidur Rahman, Upazila Awami League General Secretary FF Shafiqul Islam Zinnah, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Jahangir Hossain, Municipality Secretay Monirul Hasan, accountant Ferdousur Rahman, Assistant Tax Collector Mosharraf Hossain, License Inspector Masud Rana, EPI Supervisor Muklesur Rahman, Health Assistant Jannatul Ferdous Sourav and other employees, Councilors of different wards, President of Nakla Press Club Md Musharraf Hossain, General Secretary Mosharraf Hossain Sarkar Babu, Information and Research Secretary Asaduzzaman Sowrav, local journalists and dignitaries of the area were present in the distribution program.
UNO Zahidur Rahman and PIO Jahangir Hossain said as per the directive of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) to distribute the cash money to the beneficiaries smoothly before Eid festival.
