Member of Parliament of Bagerhat-2 constituency Sheikh Sarhan Naser Tanmoy has donated three ICU beds to Corona Dedicated Hospital in Bagerhat.
The ICU beds which are set on the third floor of the 150-bed Bagerhat Sadar Hospital were officially inaugurated on Friday (April 23) afternoon.
After the inauguration, Mayor of Bagerhat Municipality Khan Habibur Rahman announced to provide another ICU bed at Corona Hospital.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bagerhat ANM Faizul Haque, Superintendent of Police (SP) KM Ariful Haque, Civil Surgeon Dr. KM Humayun Kabir, Mayor of Bagerhat Municipality Khan Habibur Rahman, Chairman of Bagerhat Sadar Upazila Parishad Sardar Nasir Uddin, General Secretary of Bagerhat District Awami League Advocate Bhuiyan Hemayet Uddin, General Secretary of Bagerhat District Branch of Bangladesh Medical Association Dr. Md. Mosharraf Hossain, Bagerhat Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Moshabberul Islam and HM Shahin, Private Secretary to MP Sheikh Tanmoy were present at the time.
HM Shahin, Sheikh Tanmoy’s Private Secretary said MP Sheikh Tanmoy always served the people of Bagerhat. At the very beginning of the corona infection, he took various initiatives including mobile medical services, Doctors Safety Corner, Doctor to Patient – Patient to Doctor. ” Even in the second wave of Corona, our MP has taken many initiatives. Today he donated three ICU beds from his own funds,” he added.
Bagerhat Civil Surgeon KM Humayun Kabir said Corona Hospital has 30 beds including Central Oxygen. We are treating patients with the utmost sincerity. We did not have an ICU here so we had to transfer serious patients to Khulna. As a result, many patients were in danger. Today we will treat critically ill patients here as ICU beds are attached here.
Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner (DC) ANM Faizul Haque said there were no ICU beds anywhere in the district, including Bagerhat Sadar Hospital. Now ICU beds have been added to Corona Hospital in Bagerhat today. This ICU bed will play a groundbreaking role in the treatment of corona patients.
