Palli Sanchay Bank launches Palli Ambulance in Nakla

Palli Sanchay Bank has started ‘Rural Ambulance Service’ under Amar Bari Amar Khamar (My Home My Farm) Project in Nakla upazila in Sherpur district aiming to provide hassle-free health services to rural people.

Those who were handed over the keys of the ambulance were Aminul Islam of Baneshwardi village and Anar Mia of Satanipara in Bhurdi village in Baneshwardi union of the upazila.

On this occasion, a limited distribution program of ambulances was organized at the premises of Upazila Parishad Complex as per the government instructions.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Zahidur Rahman handed over the keys of two rural ambulances to two trained customers. Nakla Upazila Branch Manager of Palli Sanchay Bank Atiqul Islam, Supervisor Saikat Sarkar, Cashier Monir Hossain, Field Assistant Zakir Hossain, Abdullah Al Momen, Mahfuzur Rahman Shakil, Mojibur Rahman, Russell Mia, Qurban Ali, Mominul Islam, Nusrat Jahan Bhabna, Lakhi Begum, Syeda Nasrin Karuna, Tasreen Jahan, Touhidul Islam and other officials and employees of Nakla Upazila Branch of Palli Sanchay Bank, Nakla Press Club vice-president Khandaker Jasim Uddin Minto and other journalists were present following the health rules and maintaining social distance.

Branch manager Atiqul Islam said already 5 customers of the upazila trained has been given. Rural ambulances will be distributed among the rest subject to availability.

The special type of ambulance has all the facilities for transporting patients. It is powered by a rechargeable battery. It has 10 seats in addition to the driver’s seat.

There are separate seating arrangements for the patients; there is a siren system with oxygen cylinder, treachery for lifting the patient, first aid box and tool box. It also has good arrangements for transporting passengers.

Although it cost a lot to build this ambulance, as a pilot project, it has been valued at Tk 250,000 to the customers. Besides, all the expenses of the ambulance are being borne by Palli Bank till it reaches VAT and customer, Branch manager Atiqul Islam added.

According to the demand, a few rural ambulances will be distributed in each union in phases, Atiqul Islam.
