Agriculture: Seeds, fertilizer distribution among marginal farmers begins in Sherpur

The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) on Thursday started Aush seed and fertilizers distribution activities among 950 marginal and small farmers in Nakla Upazila in Sherpur district. 

On the first day of agricultural incentives distribution activities, seeds and fertilizers were distributed among 215 farmers on the upazila parished ground in the afternoon. 

The farmers will get agricultural assistance during the 2021-2022 Kharip-1 seasons.

Zahidur Rahman Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Nakla presided over the program, where Shah Md Burhan Uddin upazila chairman of Nakla present as the chief guest.

Mohammad Saroar Alam Talukder vice-chairman of Nakla upazila parished, Agriculturist Paresh Chandra Das UAO, Agriculturist Rukshana Nasrin AAO, Agriculturist Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani and Agriculturist Md Mahamudul Hasan Musa AEO, Fakir Mohammad Muazzem Hossain SAPPO of Nakla upazila agriculture office, Alamgir Azad convener and Abdul Mannaf Khan joint convener of upazila KL, many others SAAO of different Bloks, journalists of different media, more than hundred farmers of different area of the upazila and others were present the distribution program.

Agriculturist Paresh Chandra Das UAO of Nakla said that, the special incentives allocated by the government were distributed among 950 small and marginal farmers of Nakla upazila to assist them in cultivating Aush crops on one bigha of land this season. Each beneficiary farmer got 20-kg Dye Ammonium Phosphate (DAP), 10-kg Muriate of Potash (MoP) fertilizers and 5-kg Aush seeds for cultivating one bigha land, UAO Agriculturist Paresh Chandra Das added.
