A meeting on law and order was held on Wednesday in Nakla upazila of Sherpur district.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Zahidur Rahman presided over the meeting, where Shah Md Burhan Uddin chairman of the upazila parishad was present as the chief adviser of the law and order committee.
Among others, adviser of the law and order committee Mohammad Saroar Alam Talukder vice-chairman of upazila parishad, upazila health and FP officer Dr Mohammad Golam Mostafa, LGED engineer Arefin Parvez, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nakla police station Mushfiqur Rahman, upazila secondary education officer Mohammad Abdur Rashid, deputy director (TC) of BADC Cold Storage agriculturist Rafiqul Islam, agricultural extension officer agriculturist Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani, primary education officer Fazilatun Nessa, women’s affairs officer Rumana Yeasmin, social service officer Alamgir Hossain, cooperative officer Baha Uddin and heads of the all office in the upazila, Ganpaddi union chairman Shamsur Rahman Abul, Nakla union chairman Anisur Rahman Suja, Urfa union chairman Rezaul Haque Hira, Gaurdwar union chairman Shawkat Hossain Khan Mukul, Baneswardi union chairman Mazharul Anwar Mahabbat, Talki union chairman Badiuzzaman Baddi and Chandrakona union chairman Saju Sayed Siddiquee; Nakla Press Club general secretary Mosharraf Hossain Sarkar Babu, senior journalist Hazrat Ali and journalist Shafiuzzaman Rana and many others were spoke on the program.
Speakers urged all to come forward along with police with a view to eliminating drugs and gambling from the society. All the members of the upazila law and order committee, local journalists and others attended the meeting.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held to maintain law and order in the upazila and to deal with the second wave of Corona Virus (Covit-19). Besides, the heads of various departments of the upazila informed everyone about the progress of their official work and sought their cooperation.
Later, a monthly meeting of upazila parishad was held. pazila parishad chairman Shah Md Burhan Uddin presided over the monthly meeting.
