International Women’s Day observed in Sherpur

International Women’s Day-2021 was observed in Nakla, Nalitabari, Shribordi, Jhinayghati and Sadar upazila of Sherpur district on Monday.

As part of the program the day has been celebrated with due dignity in Nakla upazila of Sherpur district to build a new world of equality under the leadership of women.

On the theme “Women Leadership in Corona, Building a New World of Equality” and the slogan “Sheikh Hasina’s Message, Women and Men Equality”, various programs including discussion meetings were held on this day.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Zahidur Rahman presided over the meeting. The meeting was held at the upazila parishad auditorium. The program was jointly organized by the Upazila Administration and Women’s Affairs Officer’s Office of Nakla.

Upazila Secondary Education Officer (USEO) Muhammad Abdur Rashid conducted the program, where upazila parishad chairman Shah Md Borhan Uddin present as the chief guest.

Among others, Upazila parishad vice chairman Mohammad Saroar Alam Talukder, upazila agriculture officer agriculturist Paresh Chandra Das, Assistant Surgeon Dr. Maliha Nujhat, Ambia Khatun senior vice-president, municipal mayor Md Hafizur Rahman Liton joint GS, former women vice chairman of upazila parishad Umme Kulsum Renu women’s affairs secretary of upazila AL were spoke as special guests.

At this time, Upazila women’s affairs officer Rumana Yeasmin, trainer Helali Khatun, Ainun Nahar, Nakla Youth Reporters Club president Nur Hossain and vice president Nahidul Islam Rijon along with journalists of different media, employees of different office, leaders of various women’s organizations of the upazila, local dignitaries, women trainees in various subjects related to women’s affairs, teachers and students of different educational institutions were also present.
