International Women’s Day was celebrated in Chitalmari as elsewhere in the country on Monday.
The Day was celebrated with the theme “Women in Leadership, Will Build a New World of Equality” which was organized by the Department of Upazila Women’s Affairs in collaboration with the Upazila Administration.
On the occasion of the day, a colorful rally was brought out and a discussion meeting was held at 11 am.
Starting the colorful rally from the office of the Upazila Women’s Affairs Office came to an end in front of the Upazila Parishad after going around the Upazila Chattar.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Liton Ali presided over the discussion meeting. Among others, Sabera Kamal Swapna, Vice Chairman of Upazila Parishad, Mrs. Helena Reza, President of Upazila Mahila Awami League and Md. Hafizur Rahman, Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer were present.
