One of the founders of Chitalmari Upazila Awami League, President of Shibpur Union Awami League and former Chairman of Shibpur Union Awami League, Freedom Fighter Gias Uddin Ahmed breathed his last at a hospital in the capital on Thursday morning.
Eminent educationist and heroic FF Gias Uddin Ahmed passed away at 10am at the hospital while undergoing treatment for old-age complication for long time, according to family sources.
Freedom Fighter Gias Uddin Ahmed was very close associate of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The death of these veteran politicians has cast a shadow of mourning over the political arena of Chitalmari.
