Daudkandi Upazila Awami League Muktijoddha Projonmo League President Sohel Rana is going to fight for the post of Chairman of Daudkandi Sadar union parishad in the upcoming election to be held in March 2021.
Young businessman and social worker Sohel Rana is said to be a very trusted follower of Cumilla-1 MP Major General (Retd) Subid Ali Bhuiyan and Upazila Parishad Chairman Major (Retd) Mohammad Ali.
Although the union parishad election is supposed to be held in March 2021, aspiring candidates have been informing their wish by publishing festoons and posters.
Local people said as an honest young man, Sohel is very much expected to be the chairman of the union parishad.
Maksuda Akhter, a woman in the area, said Sohel is in good position in the area. Sohel stands by people in well and woes, she added.
Engineer Abdul Quadri, a local resident, said Sohel has a popularity in his localities, and people like him as he is very young and honest leader.
Asked about his aspiration of being a union parishad chairman, Sohel Rana said “I expect to participate in the union parishad election with Boat symbol of Bangladesh Awami League.”
“My father is a retired army person as well as a freedom fighter,” he added.
“I always try to stand by people in all kinds of situations and carry the ideals of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,’’ said Sohel adding that please pray for me as I can serve people.
