Chitalmari Upazila Administration and Chitalmari Thana police, in separate messages, expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family of Razia Nasir, mother of Bagerhat -1 MP Sheikh Helal Uddin.
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s younger brother Sheikh Abu Nasser’s wife Razia Nasir breathed her last at the Ever Care Hospital in Dhaka around 8:50 pm on Monday. She was 85 at her death.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Maruful Alam, in his condolence statement, said all the officers and employees of Chitalmari Upazila Administration are deeply saddened by her death and wished peace to the departed soul of the deceased and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
He urged people of Chitalmari Upazila to offer prayers for the bereaved family and the forgiveness of the departed soul.
In a similar statement, the Officer-in-Charge of Chitalmari Police Station Mir Shariful Alam also expressed deep shock at the death of Sheikh Helal Uddin’s mother and conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and wished peace to the departed soul.
Freedom Fighter Sheikh Abu Naser, who died at his brother Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s residence in the massacre of Aug 15, 1975.
Razia’s grandson Sheikh Sharhan Naser Tonmoy is also a member of parliament.
