Youth’s body recovered in Bagerhat

Chitalmari Thana police on Wednesday morning recovered the body of a youth from a tree in Chitalmari BTCL office area in Bagerhat district.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Sumon Sheikh, 32, son of Golam Rasul of Badal Bari area in Khulna Sonadanga Police Station.

Mohammad Shariful Haque, officer-in-charge, Chitalmari Police Station, said police and Bagerhat Fire Service personnel recovered the body on Wednesday morning.

“He might have committed suicide,” said the OC adding that an investigation is underway to find out the exact cause of the death.

According to locals, Sumon was a roller helper and engaged in the development work of Chitalmari Road. He lived with other workers in a primary school adjacent to the Charbaniari Union Parsad.

Police has sent the body to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. A unnatural death (UD) case has been filed with Chitalmari Thana.
