Bangladesh has registered 15 more deaths and 1,469 new cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours on Friday rising the death toll to 6,036.
The health authorities confirmed 417,475 coronavirus cases so far while 331,197 patients have recovered from the disease.
The fatality rate in Bangladesh is 1.45 percent, the Directorate General of Health Services said.
Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8. The number of cases reached the 300,000-mark on August 26. The first death was reported on March 18 and the death toll exceeded 5,000 on Sept 22.
So far, 2,418,423 tests have been carried out, including 13,521 new tests, and 17.26 percent of them have turned out to be positive.
Bangladesh is seeing 2451.32 infections, 1967.20 recoveries and 35.44 deaths per million.
The death toll from Covid-19 in the world reached 1,235,985 while the total caseload surpassed 48,829,607 as of Friday morning, according to the latest tally from Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has registered 235,030 deaths with 9,619,421 infections – both the highest in the world.
India has the world’s third largest death toll at 124,985 and the second largest caseload with 8,411,724 cases.
The global COVID-19 death toll reached the grim milestone of 1 million on September 28.
