Teen age boy, raping physically challenged minor girl, arrested in Sarishabari

Police arrested a teen age boy in a case filed for raping a nine-year-old physically challenged girl in Sarishabari Upazila of the district on Friday night.
The arrestee, 16, resident of Bogarpar village under Pugaldigha union in the Upazila, is neighbour of the rape victim.
Victim’s father, a poor rickshaw-puller, filed the rape case accusing the boy with Sarishabari Police Station on Friday night.
On Tuesday (October 13) morning, the girl’s father went out of the house to pull his rickshaw for earning, so did her mother to tend a goat at nearby field and since then the couple’s physically challenged daughter was staying alone at the house, said Fazlul Karim, Officer-in-Charge of Sarishabari Police Station quoting the case statement.
At around 11.00 am (October 13), the boy entered the house and raped the girl. After returning, the parents found their daughter screaming and they were informed about the incident, said the OC.
Police managed to arrest the accused from his house few hours after filing the case on Friday night, added the police official.
