DNU correspondent : An accused in a case filed for raping a mentally challenged girl by neighbouring boy in Jamalpur’s Sarishabari Upazila about one month ago is yet to be arrested.

On August 30 around 10.30 pm, victim’s parents were busy in working outside of house while the rapist entered house and forcibly raped the mentally challenged girl.
Later local arbitrators tried to dispose it. According to decision of arbitration, the rapist was supposed to marry her but didn’t marry yet. Since then the rapist went into hiding, said victim’s father.
On Saturday morning, in a press release victim’s father said that police is neglecting to arrest the accused. I want justice for my daughter.
“Since the filing of the case, we have been keeping drives to arrest the accused, but we have yet to capture him, the accused as he has gone into hiding in an undisclosed location,” added the IO.
